Stone Mosaic Tiles - Color

We selected these tiles for their consistency in color. With the exception of the Emperadors and Rojo Alicante, there's little veining in these stones giving you a relatively even color tone in each stone.

However, slabs of marble and travertine rarely have a consistent color throughout, and you will find some variation in color within each bag of tiles. To show you this range, here are four stones taken from each bag.

In each row, the left two stones are taken from the bag as is. We brushed a stone sealant on the third and fourth stones. The sealant gives them a slightly richer color, but in general it's hard to tell the difference.

The stones have a "tumbled" surface. This creates a flat, brushed look with a color that is slightly paler than the true color of the stone. If you want your mosaic to have a consistently even surface, using this side is desirable.

However, if you want a more rough, textured look, you can split the stone and use the raw surface of the inside cut. You will find that these surfaces have a slightly richer color or a texture that is more crystaline than the outer, brushed surfaces. Here are some examples.
